They especially taste better than fries that have been drenched in oil. So, if you’re new to using an air fryer, making fries in it, is a great starting point. Doing so can help you to test the temperature of your air fryer so that you know how well it works.

Ingredients

  • 2 medium sweet potatoes, peeled and sliced ¼ inch thick

  • 2 teaspoons olive oil

  • 1/4 teaspoon each (Smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder)

Directions

  • Preheat the air fryer to 375°F.
  • Place sliced sweet potatoes in a large bowl and toss with olive oil, smoked paprika, salt, pepper, and garlic powder.
  • Place in a single layer in the air fryer (cook in 2 batches if needed). Cook for 10-12 minutes, flipping halfway through.
  • Serve with a dipping sauce of your choice and Enjoy!

Depending on the size of your air fryer you can make as little or as much as you would like. For this recipe, you’ll want to use 2 medium sweet potatoes. Think one potato per person. I like getting sweet potatoes that aren’t super long. That way I have regular-sized fries. To make these, wash and peel the sweet potatoes. You do not absolutely have to peel them. However,  I like to since I don’t like eating the skin on my sweet potato fries. Once they are peeled, cut them about ¼” thick so they are in a french fry shape.

Next, preheat your air fryer. Then, place the cut sweet potatoes in a big bowl, drizzle them with olive oil and season them with smoked paprika, salt, black pepper, and garlic powder. Toss everything together. Smoked paprika has a rather unique flavor, so go easy on it. Too much can overpower the fries. Place the seasoned sweet potatoes in the air fryer’s basket in a single layer. Do not overcrowd the basket because it will only cause the fries to steam. Depending on how big your basket is, you might have to work in batches. Cook the sweet potato fries for 10 to 12 minutes, flipping them at the halfway mark. Flipping them helps them to cook evenly and will give you a crispy fry on the outside.

After cooking them, remove the fries from the basket. Serve them with your favorite dipping sauce and dip away! These sweet potato fries pair wonderfully with salmon or salmon burgers! How you eat them is up to you. Now, if you would please excuse me, I’m going to go enjoy eating my Air Fryer Sweet Potato Fries! Enjoy yours too!
