Paprika Chicken Breasts

Paprika Chicken Breasts

I often think of the many ways to make chicken. Sometimes I just run out of ideas. However, chicken is one of those meats that you can get creative with and season however you like. Experimenting with different seasonings for chicken has always been something I have been good at and have enjoyed.

This recipe is specifically Paprika Chicken. Why did I choose paprika? One, it was smoked paprika so it gave the chicken a nice smoky taste and two it gave the chicken a fabulous color. It also pairs perfectly with garlic powder as a seasoning.

Directions

  • Season chicken breasts with smoked paprika, garlic powder, salt and pepper.
  • Heat olive oil over medium-high heat and sear chicken breasts on each side for 5-6 minutes on each side.
  • Remove from the skillet and allow to rest for 10 minutes before serving. Enjoy!

Notes

  • Add as much paprika as you want.

This recipe is very easy. It only calls for four seasonings: salt, pepper, garlic powder and paprika. If you are anything like me you do not want to fish through your spice cabinet for all these different seasonings when making chicken. Sticking to the basics, but also making sure you add delicious flavor is key.

The best way to coat this chicken is to pour your seasoning mixture into a bowl and use your hands to mix everything together. This ensures that each piece of chicken gets an even amount of seasoning. This is also a perfect party dish. It is a recipe you really cannot go wrong with. If you are heading over to a social gathering, whip up some paprika chicken and your guests will leave very satisfied. Serve this dish with a side salad or rice and your meal is complete.

For this recipe, I did not have to put this chicken into the oven. I used three chicken breasts that I flattened with a rolling pin (you can flatten it however you like and season it from there). Sear the chicken into the skillet for about 5-6 minutes on each side on medium-high heat. Two delicious things to pair with this dish are mushrooms and rice. You want to see those slightly burnt pieces in the pan so when you add your mushrooms and cooked rice in the skillet, those juices will pick up and add extra flavor to the rice.

Paprika is one of those spices you do not really think about because most people use it for the purposes of adding color and not so much flavor. Smoked paprika has a smoky flavor, not salty, not tangy, but smoked. I have mentioned before that I enjoy researching a lot about my foods before cooking them. I found some benefits of paprika which include antioxidant priorities so it helps with your heart, can improve immunity and has a huge source of Vitamin C. It also makes your skin bright and can lighten dark spots on your skin.

I hope you find this recipe easy to make and it becomes one of your go-to dinner favorites. You can add some fresh herbs to it if you want for that extra kick. Just chop them up into very fine pieces and sprinkle them on top either before it’s cooked or after.

Paprika chicken can be served even as a lunch meal on a bed of lettuce for example. Or chop up your chicken and turn this into chicken and rice and add some cooked celery. The possibilities with this meal are endless. Now go and make yourself some paprika chicken! Trust me, you will not be disappointed. Until the next recipe! Happy eating!
